Supporting people with acquired brain injury and their families

My Story

Headway recently ran an 8 week program for a small group of people who have an ABI. The program "My Story" enabled participants to write their own story, telling of their life pre and post brain injury, and the impact this has had on their lives.

Kerryn Vaughan the group facilitator, put together an amazing program which assisted participants to feel comfortable to share their stories. Hours of work went into each of the stories, both at the sessions and at home and the topics were often very raw and confronting.

These very personal and powerful stories have been captured in a booklet which is available on our website by clicking on the link below.

The booklet will be launched in the coming months and the intention is to seek funds to enable us to promote and share this very valuable resource with other professionals, services and schools and with the general public to show the very personal stories and experiences behind ABI.

Headway is so grateful to each and every person involved and thank Latrobe Community Health Services for granting the funding for this project.
