We are having a Mothers Day Competition this year with 3 prizes available. Tickets are 50 cents each and can be purchased at our office or via our members. Prizes were donated by Nancy Humphrey and Joyce Goss. 1st Prize is a handmade double bed quilt Nancy has a stall at the local Rokeby market. 2nd Prize is a crochet blanket with a CWA anniversary cookbook 3rd Prize is a crochet rug and table runner.
In February the Rotary Club of Korumburra hold their annual art show over a weekend. They have made a section for people with disabilities to enter their own Artwork. This year entrants from the Wonthaggi Social Support group entered their masterpieces and Carren Sanderink won first prize of $500.00 and Jim Goss won third prize. Over the long weekend in March participants from Headway Gippsland Inc's Social Support Groups attended the City CYC camp on Collins Street Melbourne. The building had been recently refurbished and gave participants a luxurious experience. Some highlights included; a city circle tram ride, shopping, visiting the Shrine, Botanical Gardens, watching Moomba activities and fireworks, and events at Federation Square. Evening activities included the Eureka Tower, Southbank to watch the fireworks. …

It is with much pleasure that I advise you that Headway recently received a generous donation of 3 laptops from the School of Rural Health - Churchill Monash University. These laptops along with a generous donation from Moe Lions Club are currently being refurbished by Ed Comp computers. One of these laptops will be available for use at the Trafalgar Social Support program on a mobile desk. This computer will be connected to the internet and available for all participants to use. …
We recently received a generous donation from the Trafalgar Bendigo Bank for hats. These hats will be distributed to the Social Support Programs and be made available to participants should you forgot you own hat when out and about. I joined a small mutual support group for people with ABI and their families after our son suffered a traumatic head injury in a vehicle accident.
