Nicky Levey

Support Coordination Manager

Nicky Levey joined Headway in 2016 with a strong love for the disability field and the opportunities it gives to the people it supports.
Nearly 30 years in the disability sector has given her broad knowledge of the service system. She studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Management.
“I love being able to see the light go on in people’s eyes when they finally have the chance to have supports or services put in place that enable them more independence, or allow them to experience things in life they haven’t previously been able to.”
Nicky loves spending time with her family and the animals on her hobby farm and enjoys writing blogs.

Lisa Kuhne

Senior Support Coordinator

Central/South

Lisa Kuhne came to Headway in 2018, with a desire to help people with disability live their best life.
She has worked 25 years in the disability sector across a range of roles including in shared supported accommodation, one-to-one support, employment, housing and education.
Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science (Disability Studies), an Advanced Diploma of Disability and a Graduate Diploma of Tertiary Teaching.
She lives on a dairy farm in South Gippsland with her husband and daughter, enjoys going to the beach, live theatre and music.

Cindy Walker

Inner East

Cindy Walker started at Headway in 2017 with numerous qualifications in disability, aged care and children’s services and a background in culturally diverse supports.
Now with 15 years in the sector, she appreciates the more personal approach of a smaller organisation like Headway and its commitment to individual needs.
“I am passionate about supporting people to achieve goals and have great outcomes that they may not have seen as possible without support.”
Cindy is a family-orientated person and enjoys taking photographs, catching up with friends and seeing live shows.

Brooke Stewart

Inner/Outer East

Brooke Stewart started in the disability sector in 1999 and has experience as a learning support officer in primary education. She joined Headway in August 2020 as a support coordinator seeking to return her focus to the disability sector and continue her passion for helping people.
She describes herself as having an approachable personality, she is client-focused and is very organised. Brooke brings to the role a Certificate IV in Disability Services.
On weekends, Brooke can be found in the garden tending to her orchard and veggie garden, or cooking up her produce for family and friends.

Jenny Mills

Central/Inner East

Jenny Mills came to Headway in September 2020 with extensive experience in both the health sector and government departments. She has qualifications across the fields of disability, nursing, aged care and telecommunications.
She describes herself as people-oriented and seeks to empower people to live their best life and develop the skills to maintain independence.
“I truly believe that one small action can have a monumental impact on someone’s life.”
Outside of work, she loves travelling to new places, spending time with her family, friends and her dogs and as a music-lover, she always keeps the radio on.

Vannessa Estigarribia

Central/West

Vannessa Estigarribia joined Headway in 2019, adding to a long career in the disability sector.
She has 15 years’ experience in one-to-one support and 13 years in management positions. Vannessa has an Advanced Diploma Disability and Community Services, Cert IV in Business Management (Disability Work) and Cert IV in Disability and Community Services.
“I like to make a difference in people’s lives. When I see a smile on their face, it puts a smile on mine.”
In her spare time, she enjoys camping, fishing and photography, and loves to spend time with her family and granddaughter.

Jodie Creed

Central/East

Jodie Creed joined Headway in 2019 and today runs the East Gippsland social support program where she enjoys striving to make the participants’ ideas happen.
She has a range of qualifications, including a Cert IV in Disability and has gained diverse experience in other roles such as in home and community support and at a respite unit for people with disability.
“I really do enjoy advocating for vulnerable people, encouraging them to be the best they can be and share in the feeling of accomplishment they feel, no matter how big or small the task.”
Jodie enjoys catching up with friends and family, reading, watching movies and bushwalking.

Kristal Newman

Central

Kristal Newman started at Headway in the summer of 2019/20 and is motivated to help participants access increased funding for new equipment and supports.
“I am passionate about empowering people with disabilities and supporting them to achieve their goals and aspirations.”
With a Bachelor of Health Science and a background in healthcare, she can help participants navigate health services. She also holds Cert III in Basic Emergency Life Support and Cert II in Emergency First Medical Response.
During summer and autumn, you can find her busy at work on her berry farm. She enjoys spending time with her children and being outdoors.

Sharon Chawner

Sharon Chawner helps participants strengthen their understanding of the NDIS to achieve their aspirations and ensure choice and control in their lives.
She joined Headway’s support coordination team in early-2021 from her role as a local area coordinator with the NDIS and has extensive experience across the disability sector.
Sharon has seen how the NDIS has transformed lives – one participant told her their life was now meaningful after connecting with supports.
“I have seen one of my NDIS participants gain employment after 36 years of feeling he may never work in his life.”
Sharon loves cooking, being outdoors and spending quality time with her family.

Danny Mitchell

Danny Mitchell came to Headway in January 2021 with valuable experience in the disability sector and a strong understanding of the NDIS to help participants access empowering supports.
His previous employment includes working as a local area coordinator and assisting those with disabilities find meaningful employment.
“I am a strong believer in an inclusive society where people of all abilities are included and welcomed. I feel my role as a support coordinator with Headway will allow me to work with people to achieve this.”
He is studying a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, loves to spend time with family and friends and is keen on picking up new hobbies.
