  • As of 1 February 2021, The NDIS Worker Screening Check  has started. All new workers in risk assessed roles for registered NDIS providers will need to get an NDIS Worker Screening Check before they can start work. For more information, visit vic.gov.au/ndis-worker-screening-check.
  • A Working with Children Check. You can apply for the fee to be waivered once the NDIS Worker Screening Check is done.

Support Coordinator – part time/full time

About the role

The purpose of the NDIS Support Coordinator, is to assist NDIS participants with the implementation of supports in their funded plan, including informal, mainstream and community supports.

Successful candidates must be experienced and qualified to work with NDIS participants who have a range of complex and diverse needs including mental health, physical, and intellectual disability.

Support Coordination requires high level communication and administration compliance. Successful Support Coordinators require a high proficiency in both written and spoken English, and will be required to assist NDIS participants in completing detailed post implementation reporting and preparing quality review reporting. Transferable skills can be demonstrated with previous experience in Social Work, Nursing, Mental Health, Occupational Therapy, and Community Services fields.

Please address within your application for this opportunity

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV in Disability). Diploma qualification or higher will be highly regarded
  2. Experience in Support Coordination assisting clients with complex needs in the NDIS sector
  3. Demonstrated ability and knowledge in the area of Acquired Brain Injury and other disabilities, and expertise in assisting clients with complex needs in a supportive, empathetic and effective manner
  4. Ability to assess, plan, develop, implement, monitor and review individual NDIS plans
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage administrative requirements including supporting notes and journals, reports, plans and financial budgets
  6. Sound knowledge of support coordination practice, assessment, family dynamics, community support networks and services available to people with disabilities and their families and carers
  7. Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, problem solve and make effective decisions where there are competing priorities, with excellent attention to detail

Applicants will be subject to a probation period of six months. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including NDIS Worker Screening.

Life Skills Officers (across Gippsland) – 

We are seeking to recruit Life Skills Officers across Gippsland.

We are also looking for male Life Skills Officers to support male participants in Sale and Bairnsdale. These participants wish for male support workers.

These are casual positions. Life Skills Officers offer our participants a supportive environment to reach their full potential.

Certificate IV Community Services (Disability) or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable. Applicants must have a current driver’s licence, up-to-date First Aid and CPR and a Working with Children Check.
